On display at The Winding House Museum & Gallery

It's definitely a satisfying feeling when an artwork finds it's perfect home. What better home could there be for a coal infused painting inspired by welsh coal miners, than an Industrial museum and art gallery situated in the Welsh valleys? The Winding house Museum and Gallery in New Tredegar has found the perfect spot to display this contemporary abstract tribute to Welsh History.

"They'll remember me" is now a permanent exhibit at The Winding House and will stay on display for the public to enjoy.

About the artwork

The artwork is inspired by Wales' prominent Coal mining history. It represents thousands of courageous men that worked in Welsh Coal mines to provide for their families; and the strong communities they formed within the Welsh valleys. Many of them are our ancestors.

Created in multiple layers over a period of days. It consists of acrylic texture paste and charcoal, both handmade by the artist, as well as acrylic paints and Welsh coal.

The painting is situated on the Mezzanine level of the building and can be seen from outside of the building, as well as viewed up close inside.
