Below is some information and frequently asked questions regarding commissions.

If you would like a commissioned painting, the process begins by filling in our commission form with your details and requirements. Alternatively, you can email me at edwardjamesart@outlook.com.

After considering your requirements I would be able to give you a quote and discuss the details of your custom artwork. When you are happy to move forward with your commission you will be required to pay 50% of the quoted price upfront and the final 50% on completion of your artwork before it is delivered.  Each artwork is delivered with a handwritten note from the artist and a certificate of authenticity.  If a painting is a gift I can add the recipient's name and an extra message from you onto the handwritten note if desired. The quote will include the delivery cost.

What type of paintings can I have commissioned?

I only do abstract commissions, they can be textured or non-textured and in any size and color scheme of your choice. If you are not sure exactly what you want, that's also perfectly fine and we can plan it together. If you would like to show me the space where the painting will be displayed you can send photographs or I can offer a video call free of charge. I do not offer commissions for pet portraits or fan art.

Will my painting be framed?

All artwork comes unframed on ready-to-hang stretched canvas. It does not need to be framed but if you wish to have it framed I can arrange for your painting to be delivered to either my local framer or a framer of your choice depending on location and preferences, the client will be required to pay any costs associated with framing.

How long will it take to make my commission and how will it be delivered?

Depending on the size and amount of layers and drying time of your painting it can take up to 4 weeks to be ready for delivery. Commissions over £100 being delivered across the South Wales Valley can be hand delivered at an extra cost if desired. Paintings can currently only be delivered to the UK, unless shipping is organised by yourself. Delivery details and specifications can be discussed during the commission process.

When will I see my custom artwork?

All clients will receive at least one progress photograph of their painting as well as photographs of the finished piece before delivery.

Returns are not available for custom artwork. If your artwork arrives damaged, please contact me and send photographs of the damage as all paintings are insured. You will then have a choice of a new custom painting to be delivered or a full refund of your purchase.
